Free crochet turtle pattern

Hello!

This is the written pattern for this little sea turtle. You can make it in any 3 colors you like. I used orange, yellow and light green super fine acrylic yarn and 2 mm crochet hook size.

The pattern is written in U.S. terms.

Here is a list of the abbreviations used:

Mr – Magic Ring

Ch- Chain

Sc- Single Crochet

Inc- Increase (2 sc in next sc)

Dec- Decrease (single crochet next two stitches together)

Fo- Fasten Off 

The shell is made with 6 little circles sewn together.

Shell

With A: magic ring of 6 sc (6)

With B: [inc] rep 6 times (12)

With C: sc in 12 sc (12)

FO, cut.

Make 6 pieces. Sew the pieces together.

Circle:

With C

Row 1: magic ring of 6 sc (6)

Row 2: [inc] rep 6 times (12)

Row 3: [inc, sc] rep 6 times (18)

Row 4:  [inc, 2 sc] rep 6 times (24)

Row 5: sc in 24 sc (24)

FO, leave tail for sewing.

Legs (make 4):

With C

Ch 6,

Sc in 2^nd chain, sc in next 4.

FO. Leave tail for sewing.

Head:

With C

Row 1: Magic ring of 5 sc (5)

Row 2: Inc, sc in next 5 (6)

Row 3- Row 5: sc in 6 sc (6)

FO, leave tail for sewing.

Assembly: Stuff the shell with stuffing, place the crocheted circle on top and sew around.

Sew the legs and the head. Embroider the eyes.
